EIG's modular division delivered a prefabricated, climate-controlled Power Distribution Center (PDC)—a modular electrical building housing the substation's switchgear, backup power systems, controls and monitoring equipment. The solution replaced Arizona State University's existing substation while creating capacity for future campus growth.
Before installation, the switchboard was found to exceed the original specification by 13,000 pounds; the team quickly adjusted the design and installation plan, protecting the project schedule and avoiding additional risk to the owner.
Partnering with Main Electric Supply, EIG manufactured the PDC off-site and delivered it as a complete unit, streamlining installation and minimizing disruption on the active downtown Phoenix campus.
